(MULTI)TASK (やるべき)仕事/複数の仕事を同時に行う
A task (noun) is a piece of work you've been given to do, especially one that you do regularly or one that's difficult or unpleasant.
To multitask (verb) is to do two or more tasks at the same time.
名詞の task とは、課せられた仕事という意味で、特に、定期的に行うものや、困難なもの、面白くないものをさします。
動詞の multitask は、2つ以上の仕事を同時に行う、という意味です。

I usually use the morning hours to take care of routine tasks like catching up on e-mail and returning calls.

I've been given the task of bringing the plant up to standard by the end of the year. That's not much time.

a: Why do I always have to do the most tedious tasks in the office?
b: Because you're the most junior member of my staff. You have to pay your dues just like everyone else did.
