Head Chef – Japanese Restaurant
We are looking for a Head Chef to manage our Japanese cuisine restaurant located in Sydney CBD.
Key Responsibilities
• Control and direct the food preparation process and any other related activities
• Menu Design; Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of servings, taking into consideration of food portions , costs control and presentations
• Manage rosters and labour costs
• Management and motivation of staff
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene is reinforced and maintained
• Implementation of new menus and ideas
• Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
• Remedy any problems or defects
The successful candidate must have:
• Proven experience working in a similar role for a minimum of 3 years
• Food safety certificate
• Catering experience
• Exceptional organization skills
• Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
• Ability to establish positive relationships and create a good working team environment
• Ensure efficiency of the kitchen operation and production of consistent , quality food
• Controlling and directing the food preparation process and any other related activities
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions
• Good English conversation skills and excellent communication skills
• Permanent Resident is Preferred but visa sponsorship could be considered for the right candidate
