We are currently seeking a motivated, reliable and enthusiastic law student or Practical Legal Trainee (PLT) to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in immigration law who wishes to gain hands-on legal experience and potentially secure a paid Paralegal position.

About the Role

You will work closely with our solicitors and gain practical experience in various aspects of Australian immigration law.

Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting legal research on Australian migration law and regulations.

Assisting with the preparation and lodgement of visa applications, including employer-sponsored, skilled and partner visas.

Drafting client correspondence, legal submissions and documents for the Department of Home Affairs.

Assisting with employer sponsorship and nomination applications.

Preparing skills assessment applications and merits review applications.

Drafting costs agreements and disclosure documents.

Reviewing supporting documents and organising client files.

Assisting with general administrative duties, including filing, scanning and document management.

You will receive guidance and practical training from experienced immigration lawyers.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

A strong interest in developing a career in immigration law.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Good computer and IT skills.

A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A reliable, professional and responsible approach to work.

Previous experience in immigration law or a legal office will be highly regarded but is not essential.

Fluency in Italian would be a significant advantage, although it is not a requirement.

PLT Placement and Paid Employment Opportunity

We are looking for someone who is interested in a long-term opportunity with our firm.

The successful candidate will initially undertake a short PLT placement, where eligible, over the first few days to become familiar with our office procedures and working environment.

During this period, we will assess the candidate's skills, reliability, communication and overall suitability for the role.

If the candidate demonstrates strong performance and is a good fit for our team, we intend to offer a paid Paralegal position.

Our goal is to find someone who is motivated to learn, contribute to the firm and develop a long-term career in immigration law.
