Located in the Sydney Darlinghurst, we are a newly opened restaurant-bar in a high tourist traffic area. We are looking to showcase and bring to Sydney the world of Sake-establishing ourselves as the first specialized Sake bar in the area

About the role

Solid background and knowledge of traditional Japanese cuisine (Sushi, Kenpa, Yakitori) as well as modern Japanese fusion techniques to deliver our customers great food to perfectly complement our Sake offerings. At least 3 years experience.

Key responsibilities include

Deep understanding and experience in making Japanese cuisine
Fast preparation of dishes
Attractive dish presentation and attention to detail
Friendly personality
In addition to core chef responsibilities in the kitchen, the successful candidate will also

Relevant qualifications and background with a minimum of 3 years' experience
Self-motivated and have ability to multi-task
Well organised and efficient working style
Accurate stock takes and inventory tracking
Operates with exceptional attention to details
Team player and be able to work flexible hours, both weekends and evenings
Ability to communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Mentor and assist to train apprentices
Clear understanding of financials and cost management
