Clovelly is a tiny beach that is famous with Sydney-siders, but is often overlooked. It is situated between the more famous Bondi and Coogee beaches, and is one of the few protected beaches in Sydney, so the waves never get as big as they can at other beaches. Clovelly also has a small bay where you can go snorkelling: you won’t find Nemo, but there are an interesting assortment of corals and rock formations. I love Clovelly because the people who go love Clovelly too. Everyone is very friendly there, and in the afternoons in summer you see local kids and their parents and their dogs all down at the beach, having a great time. And when the sun sets, everything glows, and it’s so very beautiful.
