15 minutes’ walk to shops, cafés, and the train station, with a direct 30-minute train to the city.

About Our Family
We are looking for a Japanese au pair to join our family. I’m a Chinese single mum, working full-time, with a happy and energetic 3-year-old boy. He attends childcare/preschool five days a week, so the house is usually quiet during the day and you have plenty of free time. Reliability and safety are very important to me. We don’t speak Japanese, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to practise English. We love Japanese food and are excited to learn more about Japanese language and culture from you.

Your Role
Weekdays (Monday–Friday):
• Mornings: 6:30am–8:00am
Help get my son ready for school, including breakfast and lunch preparation (lunch prep on Monday and Tuesday only).
• Evenings: 5:00pm–8:00pm
Prepare dinner for my son, yourself, and me (we especially enjoy Japanese home-cooked meals 😊).
Other tasks include washing dishes, bathing him, and playing or doing activities together. I will take over after 8pm.
Saturday (8:00am–5:00pm):
Accompany and assist me during outings such as music class, early learning class, and playdates. I will remain the primary caregiver; your role is to provide extra support.
Note: If extra hours are needed on weekdays, Saturday work may not be required.

I usually handle school drop-offs and pick-ups, but this can be shared if you’re confident driving in Australia and we both feel comfortable. Driving is a bonus but not essential. Occasionally, I may ask for help with pick-up or drop-off by car or public transport, with advance notice.

About You
• Love caring for children
• Qualified nurse or kindergarten teacher in Japan (minimum 1 year experience)
• Conversational English
• Love and Enjoy cooking
• Minimum 6 month stay is preferred
