Full job description
Guest Relations & Admin Coordinator
Azuma Japanese Restaurant – Sydney CBD

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am - 6.00 pm (35-40 hours per week)
Pay: A$32.31–A$35.15 per hour + tips + staff benefits

About Us
Azuma is a family-run, award-winning Japanese restaurant with over 30 years of history in Sydney. After 21 successful years at Chifley Tower, we’ve moved to a new CBD location and are entering an exciting new phase of growth.
We pride ourselves on delivering authentic Japanese dining with premium service, and we’re looking for someone who shares our passion for hospitality and attention to detail.

About the Role
This is a varied, hands-on role supporting guest relations, reservations, and day-to-day administration, with exposure to marketing activities.
You’ll work closely with the directors and restaurant team, playing an important role in delivering a seamless guest experience and supporting business operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage reservations, VIP bookings, and customer enquiries by telephone and email.
• Act as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a welcoming and professional reception experience
• Build and maintain relationships with hotel concierges and corporate clients
• Assist with guest communications and customer database management
• Support administrative tasks including scheduling, correspondence, and office coordination
• Assist with marketing tasks (social media updates, website updates, eDMs – training provided)
• Help coordinate gift vouchers, supplies, and general operations
• Provide reception coverage during lunch service, including greeting guests, managing walk-ins, and coordinating table flow, assisting section waiters

About You
• Strong communication skills in English; Japanese language skills highly regarded
• Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks
• Friendly and professional with a customer-focused attitude
• Comfortable using computers (Microsoft Office; other systems can be trained)
• Interest in hospitality, Japanese culture, or customer experience

Experience in hospitality, admin, or customer service is preferred but not essential.
